In Nursery we have been celebrating ‘Random Acts of Kindness Week’.  We read ‘It’s Great to be Kind’ and talked about how the children in the story were kind to each other. We thought about things we do in Nursery to be kind to our friends. We have tried hard this week to make each other smile. Our favourite act of kindness was when Alex helped Muhammad to fasten his coat.

This week we have listened to different stories about caterpillars and butterflies. Our favourite story was ‘The Caterpillar’s wish’. Some of the children decided to search in the nursery garden for caterpillars. We didn’t find any but we did find lots of worms and a slug!

We had lots of fun in nursery to celebrate ‘Number Day’. We decorated a hat with lots of numbers and sang all of our favourite number songs.

The nursery children have enjoyed celebrating Chinese New Year. We listened to stories and acted out the great race. We tasted noodles and cooked food in our Chinese restaurant. We made a dragon and dressed up to perform a dragon dance.

This week in nursery we have read the story ‘That’s not my snowman’. The children have thoroughly enjoyed this story. They have loved joining in with all the words. We decided to make our own book. The children drew their own pictures of snowmen.

This week in nursery we listened to the story ‘Bella gets her skates on’. We talked about all of the things Bella did at winter time. We re-told the story in our nursery garden and did all of things Bella did, including wearing warm clothes, sledging, skating and skiing. We even had our very own café and drank hot chocolate to keep us warm. It was delicious!

We have had a lovely start to the Spring Term. The children were so excited to be back at nursery to see their friends. It has been very cold in the nursery garden this week. We wrapped up warm and went on a hunt for frost and ice. We found lots!
