In DT, we have been learning about how greenhouses work. We then designed, made and evaluated our own mini greenhouses using reused household items. During the making process, we checked back to our designs and tweaked them if we needed to. We worked collaboratively to try and meet the design success criteria.

In History, we have been learning about the Romans and their invasion of Britain. After looking at how the Romans have influenced our life today, we examined some artefacts that have been found around the country that give us a clue into how the Romans lived.

We have been looking at sound in Science. We know that sound is caused by vibrations and sound waves travelling to our ear, we have investigated which parts of musical instruments vibrate when used and we have measured the decibel levels of these instruments. We have also looked at ways in which we can change the pitch of sounds as well as also soundproofing to muffle sounds.

Wow! We are so proud of our super skippers! We took part in the Sunderland Schools Skipping Festival at the Beacon of Light and we were blown away by the effort, perseverance, determination and teamwork of everyone in Year 4. Although we didn’t win, we had a lot of fun, as well as winning some of the individual awards!
