Winter Gardens
This week, we visited the Sunderland Winter Gardens. We took part in a rainforest workshop, where we were able to handle objects from around the world and then explored the museum, finding ways in which we can help to protect the rainforests.
Science
In our unit of Science, we have been looking at states of matter. We have investigated the properties of solids, liquids and gases and learned about how temperature can affect the states of certain materials.
Science
Following on from our unit of Science, we have been building circuits. Our challenge was to make a complete circuit, so that the bulb would light up. After this, we looked at created more complex circuits, including switches, buzzers and multiple bulbs. We recognised that the more components that were added to the circuit, the dimmer the bulb was, as more power was required elsewhere in the circuits.
