Hall Hill Farm
What a fantastic time we had on Tuesday at Hall Hill Farm! We could not believe just how many animals were at the farm, and we even had the chance to feed some of them! The best part had to be meeting the chicks, and having a cuddle with them! We were so sad to leave at the end of the day! A massive thank you to farmer Richard for such a fabulous day!
DT
In our DT lessons this half term, we have been making ‘moving pictures’ using levers and pivots. We must say that they have turned out fabulous!
Fractions
We have started learning about fractions in our Maths lessons, so we took the chance to work practically. We listened carefully to the instructions and folded our piece of paper to make a perfect, even half. Then, we challenged our friends to find half of the shapes we made with cubes!
Science Workshop
We were lucky enough to take part in a Science workshop this half term, where we experienced lots of experiments first hand! We were amazed at the bottle shooting up to the ceiling of the studio because of the gas inside!
World Book Day
What a fabulous day we had in Year 1 on World Book Day! We worked together with Year 2 to complete a carousel of fabulous activities relating to our focus book, ‘Flooded’ by Mariajo Ilustrajo!
Geography
What a start to our new topic we’ve had! Our new topic is ‘At The Farm’ in Year 1, and we’ve spent some time this week learning all about the three different types of farm and why they are important. Our socks have been blown off at just how many key words the children have been using about the farm in their work! We are also loving our new role play area – the farm shop!
