Broom House Farm
Year 3 visited Broom House Farm this week and had an amazing day! We had a tour of the farm and visited the animals in the fields and in their pens and sheds. We learned about the wheat and oats that are being stored at the farm, in preparation for the winter. We learned that trees and plants prepared for the winter naturally, Rhubarb buries itself in the soil to keep out of the cold, until late Spring! We feed the piglets and their mums some apples and they gobbled them down!
After we had lunch in the school room, we went to the forest and had great fun. The forest at Broom House farm is an adventure forest and we got to ride the zip wire, climb the wooden tree house and we built little houses for the fairies. What a great day of adventure!
ART
Printing – William Morris
In Art, we have produced artwork inspired by William Morris. We designed and made our own printing blocks and used these to print patterns just like he did. We used natural colours and natural objects to create our pattern.
Football Festival
We took part in a Football Festival at the Raich Carter. We got to compete against two other schools and show off our fantastic football skills. We had so much fun and can’t wait to take part in more sports festivals throughout the year!
