Activ5 sports event

This week, we took part in the Tyne and Wear Activ5 sports event. Each day we thought about a sporting value and took part in a set of challenges. We competed in our house teams.

Throughout the week we looked at the School Games Values. On Monday, we looked at what SELF-BELIEF is to us. We joined in with a body percussion activity and thought about why we are proud of ourselves. We completed a cones and domes challenge and Tees team were the overall winners!

On Tuesday, we took part in a hoops and bean bags competition. We aimed and scored and used our maths skills to work out the total amount. Tweed team were the winners! During team talks, we thought about what RESPECT means to us!

On Wednesday, we took part in lots of team-building activities. One of our team tasks was to line up in order of shoe sizes – without talking! This was so tricky but lots of fun. We loved guess the sport charades too!

We practised our throwing skills at lunchtime and Derwent scored the most points. 

On Thursday, we took part in a HIIT session with Hayley. At lunchtime we practised our jumping skills, we worked in teams to complete a collective long jump. Tweed was the winning team today! We thought about the value HONESTY.

To end the week, we took part in yoga sessions and enjoyed playing games with the parachute. We loved keeping fit and working together.
